I have been involved in photography for 20 years. I started working as a press photographer in 1994 for the Herald Express in Torquay, following a career in electrical engineering in the British Army.

In 1996, I joined the Western Mail and Echo, now Mediawales in Cardiff as a senior photographer, l ater training in video production for the Mediawales website. This training included planning, filming and editing of web-based films for both the Mediawales newsdesk and private clients.

My experience as a press photographer was invaluable in becoming a videographer, which involves working alone, editing and delivering to very tight deadlines.
